MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary Tokyo Guide: Tickets, Timed Entry and Yurakucho Access

MAPPA EXPO Tokyo dates, hours and two exhibition periods
The venue is YURAKUCHO MUSEUM on B1 of Tokyo International Forum, 3-5-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku. The first period runs September 16–October 25; the second runs October 28–December 7. The exhibition closes October 26 and 27 for the changeover. Daily hours are 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with last admission at 5:00 p.m.
Entry categories begin at 10:00 and continue every 30 minutes through 5:00 p.m. Tickets also show a numbered queue and meeting time. Treat the printed meeting instruction—not simply the headline admission time—as the time to reach the venue, leaving a buffer for ticket checks and the numbered line.
Ticket prices, bundles, same-day admission and overseas cards
Adults: ¥2,000 advance / ¥2,200 same day.
University and high-school students: ¥1,600 advance / ¥1,800 same day.
Junior-high and elementary students: ¥1,200 advance / ¥1,400 same day.
Preschool children enter free with a ticket-holding guardian aged 18 or over, but do not receive the admission bonus or bundle item.
Merchandise bundles A, B and C: ¥4,000 advance / ¥4,200 same day, each with a limited acrylic panel for one specified headline title.
Choose the bundle title carefully: the selected work cannot be changed after purchase, and the panel will not be sold separately in the venue shop. Completed ticket purchases cannot be changed, cancelled, refunded or reissued. Student tickets may require student ID. A disability certificate holder still needs a ticket; one accompanying person may enter free but does not receive the admission bonus.
As of July 31, the official second advance lottery for the first period had closed on July 27. The organizer said sales accepting cards issued outside Japan were planned for August, but had not announced an exact start date. Do not treat “planned for August” as an open sale. Check the official site and X account for general sales, later-period tickets and overseas-payment instructions.
What the exhibition is expected to cover
The first visual and announced material emphasize Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Attack on Titan The Final Season and JUJUTSU KAISEN, with seven newly drawn exhibition illustrations. MAPPA also says the exhibition will look across productions from its first 15 years. That gives multi-title fans a stronger reason to visit than a single-series pop-up, but the complete work list, exact display objects and differences between the two periods still require later official confirmation.
The visitor bonus is an original key-animation postcard inside a production-style folder. At entry, choose one of the three headline titles, then receive one random design from that title’s set of five. The specific image cannot be selected.
Merchandise rules change how you should move through the venue
The shop will carry exhibition-original goods using the new illustrations and key-animation material. Clear files, acrylic key holders and stickers are among the first announced items, with more to come. The merchandise area cannot be visited without exhibition admission. Entry is generally limited to once, checkout to once, reservations are not accepted, purchase limits may apply, and sold-out products are not guaranteed to return.
Finish any second look at the displays before moving into the shop. The organizer had not published a complete photography policy as of July 31, so do not assume every section permits photos. On-site signs, staff instructions and later FAQ updates take priority.
How long to allow: two to three hours is a planning range
MAPPA has not published a standard visit duration. For itinerary purposes, allow roughly 90–150 minutes for the exhibition, then another 30–45 minutes if you plan to compare merchandise. Add around 30 minutes before the slot on busy weekends or early in the run for lockers, ticket checks and the numbered queue. These are ValueNavi planning buffers, not reported wait times.
Yurakucho access, station exits, accessibility and luggage
JR Yurakucho Station is about a one-minute walk away. Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Station Exit D5 connects to the B1 concourse. Tokyo Station is about five minutes via the Keiyo Line-side underground connection. Ginza Station is roughly five to seven minutes depending on the line, making Ginza dinner or shopping the easiest extension.
Tokyo International Forum has five pay-locker areas on B1, open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. It does not operate a permanent cloakroom, although individual organizers may provide one. Large bags and suitcases are not allowed in the display area, so use your hotel, Tokyo Station or the Forum lockers before joining the queue.
The complex has wheelchair-accessible elevators and toilets, tactile guidance and other barrier-free facilities. A nursing room is available on B1 of the Glass Building. Visitors who need a specific exhibition route or assistance should check the Forum’s barrier-free map and contact the exhibition before travel.
Half-day routes before and after MAPPA EXPO
Afternoon slot: Tokyo Station lunch → exhibition → Ginza dinner
Have lunch around Tokyo Station or Marunouchi, leave large luggage at the hotel or in a locker, enter between about 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., then walk toward Ginza after the exhibition. This minimizes transfers and leaves dinner flexible if the shop takes longer than expected.
Morning slot: opening entry → Marunouchi → Tokyo Station
Choose 10:00 or 10:30 a.m., then have lunch around Tokyo International Forum, KITTE or Marunouchi. Add the Imperial Palace outer grounds only if weather and energy allow; the indoor central-Tokyo plan is complete without it.
Rainy-day version: keep the day on the Tokyo Station–Ginza axis
Use the Tokyo rainy-day indoor itinerary as the base: Tokyo Station and KITTE in the morning, MAPPA EXPO as the afternoon anchor, then Ginza. Underground connections reduce street exposure, but long corridors, lifts and station walking still count as real distance.
Who should go—and who may not enjoy it
Good fit: fans of several MAPPA titles, animation production material, new exhibition art and limited goods.
Good fit: travellers based around Tokyo Station, Yurakucho, Hibiya or Ginza who want a central indoor half-day.
Good fit: international visitors comfortable booking a timed slot and saving tickets offline.
Poor fit: shoppers who want merchandise without paying for the exhibition—the shop is not separately accessible.
Poor fit: visitors sensitive to violent imagery; the organizer warns that some violent expression may appear.
Poor fit: fully spontaneous itineraries, because same-day tickets exist only when timed slots remain.
Sold-out, cancellation and bad-weather backups
Do not rely on unofficial resale if your preferred slot sells out. Check the official X account for additional releases, another day or the later exhibition period. Same-day admission is possible only when a timed category still has capacity.
Before September 6, the same venue’s earlier option is the Pingu exhibition at YURAKUCHO MUSEUM. For a weather-proof central route, keep the Tokyo Station–Ginza indoor itinerary as the backup. If the organizer cancels or transport is disrupted, follow the event-specific announcement rather than assuming the standard no-refund rule automatically applies to an extraordinary closure.
Where to stay and how to keep tickets accessible
An early slot, heavy merchandise plans or a Tokyo Station–Ginza day all favour staying around Tokyo Station, Yurakucho, Hibiya or Ginza. Leave the suitcase at the hotel and enter with a small bag.
