USJ Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Attractions and Age Limits

The decision is straightforward. Adults seeking the strongest psychological experience should examine Lights Out. For traditional walk-through horror, prioritize Resident Evil or Factory of Fear. Travelers who do not want close performer pursuit can choose Sadako, Chainsaw Man 4-D, KATE or a stage show. A Studio Pass, Timed Entry eTicket, Express Pass and separate event ticket solve different problems and do not replace one another.

USJ Halloween Horror Nights 2026 attractions at a glance

Lights Out: Nightmare Isolation runs September 11–November 8 from 10:00 a.m. until close at Stage 18. It requires a separate paid ticket; guests age 17 or under are not admitted; a waiver is signed on the day; bags must be stored; and USJ states that the experience is conducted only in Japanese. Editorial estimate: 5/5. Official confidentiality rules prohibit sharing its interior or content.

Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive runs September 11–December 27 from 10:00 a.m. until close at Stage 18. It requires an official-app Timed Entry eTicket and supports selected Express products. Guests age 14 or under and junior-high students are not admitted. Editorial estimate: 5/5 for close performers, creatures and a walk-through maze.

Factory of Fear: Zombie Tour runs September 11–November 8 from 10:00 a.m. until close at Stage 22. An eTicket may be required and selected Express products are valid. Guests age 14 or under and junior-high students are not admitted. Editorial estimate: 4.5/5, with confined spaces and an undead-factory theme.

KATE PRESENTS Witches of House 18 runs September 11–November 8 from 9:00 a.m. until close at Stage 18. It requires an app eTicket; guests age 12 or under, or elementary-school age and under, are not admitted; Child Switch is available. This mirror-house, emotion and makeup interaction is not a heavy maze. Editorial estimate: 1.5/5, though limited Japanese may reduce the complete interaction.

Ride, 4-D, street and stage alternatives

Sadako's Curse: Dark Horror Ride runs September 11, 2026–January 4, 2027, supports Express and requires parental consent for guests age 12 or under, in addition to standard ride criteria. It relies on darkness and high-speed movement. Editorial horror estimate: 4/5; motion intensity is higher than performer pursuit.

Chainsaw Man: The Chaos 4-D runs September 11–November 8, supports Express and requires parental consent for guests age 12 or under. Blood imagery, loud sound and sensory effects are direct. The original story is dialogue-heavy enough that Japanese ability matters more for fans. Editorial estimate: 3/5.

Street Zombies and Zombie de Dance operate from 6:00 p.m. until close. The general guidance is that the program is not recommended for guests age five or under and guests age twelve or under require parental consent. Editorial estimates: 3.5/5 for Street Zombies due to crowds, proximity and low visibility; 2.5/5 for Zombie de Dance, which leans toward music and crowd energy. The final dance show each night includes a 15th-anniversary medley.

Halloween Horror Nights Academy is a 15th-anniversary stage show; general viewing is not Express, while a separate paid viewing area is available. Jurassic Park in the Dark, JAWS: Red Alert and the Halloween tracks on Hollywood Dream retain their standard ride, height and health requirements. Speed or darkness should not be confused with close-contact horror.

The strictest individual age rule always wins

The broad Horror Nights guidance is not recommended for age five or under and parental consent for age twelve or under, but individual prohibitions override it: Lights Out is 18+; Resident Evil and Factory exclude guests age 14 or under and junior-high students; KATE excludes guests age 12 or under and elementary-school students. An eTicket, Express Pass or Child Switch does not waive eligibility. Ride attractions also retain height and health criteria.

How eTickets, separate tickets and Express differ

Resident Evil and KATE officially require Timed Entry eTickets, while Factory may require one. These are normally acquired in the official app, although lower-demand operations can sometimes open without them. Lights Out needs its own paid ticket. Resident Evil, Factory, Sadako, Chainsaw Man, Jurassic in the Dark, JAWS and Hollywood Dream appear in different Halloween Express products, but no product covers everything. Where Japanese ability matters most

Lights Out has the greatest language dependence because USJ explicitly says it is conducted only in Japanese. KATE uses witch or staff instructions for emotional interaction. Chainsaw Man 4-D contains an original story and dialogue. Resident Evil, Factory, Sadako, Street Zombies and ride overlays depend more on scene, sound and movement, but safety instructions still matter.

What to choose by scare tolerance

Scare-sensitive: KATE, Academy and Zombie de Dance, then JAWS or Chainsaw Man 4-D. General horror fan: Resident Evil, Chainsaw Man 4-D and Street Zombies, adding Sadako if motion is acceptable. Heavy horror fan age 18+: Lights Out, Resident Evil and Factory form the clearest top three. With only two slots, Resident Evil plus Factory maximizes walk-through horror; Resident Evil plus Sadako avoids repeating the same format.

How families and mixed groups can split

Split by hard eligibility first and assign one adult to the non-rider. The horror group can complete one Stage 18 or Stage 22 attraction while the other group uses a daytime area, an indoor break or KATE Child Switch, then reunites at a fixed landmark near a Safe Area. Do not try to locate one another while moving through a zombie route. Use USJ Halloween 2026 with Kids for the family plan.

Attractions that continue after November 8

Core Horror Nights, Lights Out, Factory, KATE, Chainsaw Man, street and stage programming are scheduled to end November 8. Resident Evil continues through December 27, Sadako through January 4, 2027, and JAWS: Red Alert is officially listed through January 31, 2027. A long event period does not guarantee daily operation; check closure information.

What must be rechecked after opening

After September 11, re-audit actual scare intensity, performer distance, flashing light, loud sound, full darkness, fog, water, gore, contact, experience duration, eTicket distribution and end times, Express entrances, language support, Safe Routes, weather cancellations and temporary closures. Do not use material that violates the Lights Out confidentiality rule.
